Accessibility statement
The EACoding website is committed to equal, accessible service for all users, including people with disabilities. The site was designed and built to meet Israel's Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard 5568 at level AA.
Conformance level
The site was built to meet IS 5568 at level AA. The Israeli standard is based on the WCAG 2.0 guidelines at level AA; beyond that, the site was also designed and checked against WCAG 2.1 at level AA. The checks performed are listed below, together with known limitations.
Adaptations implemented
- Keyboard operation of every interface component: menus, accordions, dialogs and forms (Tab, Enter, Esc), plus a skip-to-content link.
- Semantic structure: heading hierarchy, labelled navigation landmarks and a declared page language on every page.
- Color contrast: text and component colors were chosen to meet the level-AA contrast ratio and checked manually.
- A visible focus indicator on every interactive element.
- Alternative text for content images, decorative images marked as such, and labelled form fields with associated error messages.
- Respect for the operating system's reduced-motion preference: the site's animations and effects are disabled when it is on.
- A display-preferences panel: text scaling, animation stop, link underlining and high contrast. Preferences persist between visits.
- Accessibility is implemented in the site's own code, with no external overlay widget.
How the site was checked
The site was checked manually in Chrome (desktop and Android) and Safari (macOS and iOS): keyboard navigation, focus order, contrast, heading structure and forms. It should behave the same in other browsers, but they were not tested separately.
Known limitations
- A full screen-reader test (such as VoiceOver or NVDA) has not yet been performed. The site is built with semantics and ARIA labelling intended to support screen readers, and such a test is planned. If you hit a problem with a screen reader, we want to hear about it.
- Project screenshots in the portfolio are images of other websites. On each project page the screenshot has alternative text, and the project information also appears as regular text, so nothing is available only in the image. The external sites the links point to are outside our control, and their accessibility level may differ.
Service accessibility arrangements
The service is provided remotely only - by phone, WhatsApp, email and video calls. There is no physical reception, so no building accessibility arrangements apply. You are welcome to ask to communicate through whichever channel suits you.
