The challenge
Greg Cafe isn't a single coffee shop — it's a national chain that started in 1994 as a small Haifa coffee bar and grew into one of Israel's best-known hospitality brands. A site at that scale has to do several jobs at once: tell a brand story, drive people to branches, sign members up to the loyalty club, sell gift cards, and take franchise and event enquiries — while looking good doing all of it.
The brief was a site that feels like the brand: warm, inviting and modern, with motion that carries you through the page without making it heavy — because most visitors arrive on a phone, on the way to a branch or during a break.
What I built
A custom WordPress site, built from the ground up for the chain:
- A properly structured foundation — the project runs on Bedrock: a modern WordPress structure managed with Composer, with clean separation between core, application code and configuration. That's what makes a chain's website maintainable, updatable and deployable without breaking it.
- A theme written for this brand — no off-the-shelf template, no page builder. The front end is built on Tailwind, so every screen gets exactly the design the brand needs.
- Custom animations — GSAP with lines that draw themselves as you scroll, plus small interactions that add life without getting in the way of reading or dragging in unnecessary libraries.
- Every audience path in one place — branches, menu, loyalty club, gift cards, events, franchising and the Greg Group — each audience finds its route without hunting.
- Forms that actually work — event, franchise and contact enquiries, including date and time selection and file attachments, arrive neatly with the right team.
- Mobile first — the menu, branch finder and club pages were designed for the small screen first, because that's where the decisions get made.
The result
A brand site that holds the chain's entire activity under one roof — from the coffee story to the franchise form — and stays fast and easy to maintain as branches, promotions and campaigns keep getting added.
